Cute af scarecrow look
We all know Halloween is the time to let out your inner witch, but some of us prefer to keep it cute and kitsch, so that's why we decided to bring you this cute af scarecrow look. Its fun to create and can the put together with a simple flannel and pair of ripped jeans for an easy DIY halloween get up.
We started the look with a primer for smooth and even skin - we love the Gerard Cosmetics BB+ Illumination creme, and we apply it to the face with our Bella&Bear Lynx kabuki.
As you're likely to be wearing this look all night long at your Halloween party, lets go for a full coverage foundation. Using our Bella&Bear jaguar kabuki and some Estee Lauder Double wear foundation we are buffing the face in outward motions for a streak free and flawless finish.
Next, were going to apply a concealer to bring light to the face and to disguise any blemishes - we applied it to the chin, the forehead and the area below the eyes, blending it in with our Bella&Bear Ocelot concealer brush. We used the Essence camouflage concealer.
We want to have soft matte finish for this look, so we are going in with our Bella&Bear Tiger powder brush and some Rimmel Stay Matte setting powder and we are gently dusting the face with it. If you prefer a dewy finish then simply set the areas of the face where you applied your concealer.
It is also a good idea to spritz the face with some setting spray here to keep everything locked in place. We love the Makeup Revolution Oil control fixing spray for this.
For the eyes we are going to keep it simple but colourful. But first, we have to apply our shadow primer to keep our shadows in place and to make them extra vibrant. We are using some TooFaced shadow insurance and we are applying it to the lid with our finger, going right up to the brow bone.
We are then starting with our base shadow, a matte ivory shade, and we are applying it all over the lid, again up to the brow bone, with our Bella&Bear Jaguaruny brush. We are using 'Pure' from the Zoeva Naturally Yours palette here.
Next, let's apply a transition shade, this will keep our shadows soft and blended, rather than having harsh finishing lines. We're using a matte taupe shadow for this, working it into the crease of the eye with our Bella&Bear Bornean Bay Cat brush in a windscreen wiper motion.
We are then taking a matte orange shadow and we are going to softly apply this to the lid for a diffused look. We are using our fluffy Bella&Bear Pampas brush for this, dusting the colour over the lid and building it up until happy with the colour! We also used a darker matte orange shadow with our Bella&Bear Leopard Cat Pencil brush and we worked it onto the outer corner of the eye for a little definition. We used the Lick and Lash 35 colour warm palette for this.
Next we're going to darken the eyes for a more cartoony look. Taking our Bella&Bear serval liner brush and a black liner (liquid or gel work well) we are creating a thick wing along the upper lash line and right into the inner corner. Once dry we are repeating this along the lower lash line, creating a thick line that meets up with the upper wing and the inner corner of the eye. We love the Essence Cushion liner for this. We then used our Bella&Bear Caracal liner brush to create some faux lashes on the lower lash line.We then went in with a kohl pencil and filled in the upper and lower lash lines.
For our lashes we started by curling them with our Bella&Bear Eye&Mighty Curler for some lift and then applied a coat of our fave mascara - Benefit's They're Real. To further enhance that cute look we are going in with some false lashes - we chose some that were quite dramatic to give the eyes that extra look. We applied the lashes as close to the natural lash line as possible with our Bella&Bear angled tweezers. We used the Eylure exaggerate 141 lashes here.
Lets frame the eyes by filling in the brows. Taking our Bella&Bear Iberian Lynx brow brush we are using the spoolie end to brush the brows into the preferred shape and we are then using the brush end and some Freedom makeup brow pomade to fill in and define the brows. We then finished by brushing them through again to disperse any excess product for a softer finish.
Now lets work on the skin, as we want this to be a character look we wont be doing any contouring, instead we are going to apply that same orange shadow to the apple of the cheeks in small circles, blending out the edges for a soft finish. We are using our Bella&Bear Jaguarundy brush for this. We also added a light dusting of matte bronzer to the temples for a healthy glow. We love the Benefit Hoola bronzer and we applied it with our Bella&Bear bobcat angled brush.
We should add to that super cute vibe - lets apply some faux freckles! You may have checked out our awesome faux freckle hack post (see it here) where use our Bella&Bear detangler brush to create some natural looking freckles. We simply apply these over those nose and the cheeks. You can build this up until you're happy!
Now let's add some more scarecrow features! We used an orange face paint and our Bella&Bear Caracal liner brush to create a candy corn shape nose.
Next we outlined that nose for some definition. We took a black face paint (black liner will work too) and our Caracal brush and we carefully outlined the nose.
Lets also add some friendly stitches to the mouth to 'pull' this look together. Using the same face paint (or a black lip product like Limecrime in 'Black Velvet') we are filling in the lips with our Bella&Bear Rusty Spotted Cat Lip Brush
And we are then creating an extended smile line with our Bella&Bear Caracal liner brush, finishing with some X shaped stitches!
Let's lock it all in place with another spritz of that setting spray!
We wanted to add a silver wig to finish this look, to again add to that character feel, so we brushed through our hair with our Bella&Bear Paddle brush to remove any tangles, and we then created a tight braid on each side of the head, securing each one flat against the back of the head with bobby pins. Finally we pulled on our wig and gave it a brush through! We added a cute scarecrow hat and pulled on a flannel!
